Barrel Racing Events
The Crapaud Exhibition Association is holding its 44th continuous light horse show the weekend of July 31st, and August 1st, 2010.
The Maritime Barrel Racing Association is making Crapaud one of its circuit shows again this year. Speed events, Barrel racing, Pole bending and down and back are the main competitions. Horses come to Crapaud from all parts of the Maritimes to take part in this exciting, competitive event.
Crapaud will hose numerous interesting competitors and top horses again this year. Long time competitors Elaine McLean, originally from Cape Breton no living in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and her brother Chris McLean of Tatamagouche, his wife Wendy and young daughter will also be racing Crapaud Exhibition weekend.
Blair Dugas, Cape Breton, has been a top competitor in the Maritimes over the years and always brings his friendly approach to the sport of barrel racing.
Lucy Collier of Amherst and her daughter Charmaine come to compete each year, not only against other competitors but also against each other.
Maureen Murray from Miramishi will be attending with tow of the better horses in the region.
We also have some Island owned horses hoping to be in the running and out running some of the strong horses from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Keep and eye on John McAssey who is returning to the sport.
The Crapaud Exhibition Association will be hosting 40-50 of the Maritimes best horses Saturday, July 31st and August 1st, 2010.
